In early 2026, Alliance for Smiles will return to Gazipur, Bangladesh – but we need your help to reach the children still waiting for care that could transform their lives.
Since 2009, we’ve completed 8 missions in Bangladesh, providing 734 life-changing surgeries worth $2.64 million. These numbers represent hundreds of children, families, and communities freed from the shadow of pain, stigma, and lost opportunities.
Behind every statistic is a child with a story…
Baby Mohamed Ali struggled to eat and drink because of his cleft lip. In 2024, his mother brought him to our Gazipur clinic with the hope of a healthier future. That hope became reality when our volunteer surgeons repaired his cleft lip.
Eight-year-old Afrin “Meem” Akthar, born with a cleft palate and tongue tie, was kept out of school until age 7 and bullied for being unable to speak. A simple, yet life-changing surgery during our 2017 Khulna mission gave her family hope that she could soon speak, learn and dream without fear.
Mayna’s family, earning just $1,500 a year, traveled more than 10 hours for her surgery. Families like hers come because AfS missions provide world-class care – completely free of charge.
And our impact doesn’t end with surgery. We train local doctors like Dr. Tahmina Aktar Mitu, who now helps transform the lives of children with cleft conditions in her own community, ensuring change continues long after our missions end.
This is what your generosity makes possible. Every dollar you raise today becomes a smile tomorrow.
