Lagos Nigeria 2026 – Briefing 4

LAGOS, NIGERIA – April 21, 2026
Day 4: First Patients on the Way Home

Waiting for tomorrow′s operation

Today felt like a day where everything came together, and you could feel it in the air.

By Day 04, you can see it clearly: Team Alliance and Team LASUTH have been working closely, and it shows. Two teams, two different backgrounds, moving together with a rhythm that feels smooth and natural.

After two nights in the hospital, Daniel and Excel walked out with their families and their lives on a new path. You could see it in their eyes: the particular happiness of people who have been waiting a long time for something and can finally stop waiting.

In the same hours, Temitope, a 32 year old man, went into the operating room as a reminder that cleft care is not only about children. It is about everyone who has carried this condition through life, waiting for a chance to change it.

In the middle of all of this, the Chairman of the Mushin Local Government Area came to visit. That he visited us says something about what this mission means beyond these walls.

Tomorrow, more discharges. More lives changed.
