Alliance for Smiles follows the guidelines of the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association (ACPA).

Alliance for Smiles supports healthcare professionals through educational resources, clinical information, and training materials related to cleft care and treatment.
These resources are intended to support ongoing medical education, collaboration, and the development of sustainable cleft care programs within local communities.
Medical Provider Education Library
Education is a core part of the Alliance for Smiles mission.
Through peer-to-peer collaboration and provider-to-patient education, we work to strengthen local medical knowledge and improve cleft care outcomes around the world.
To support this effort, Alliance for Smiles has developed a Medical Provider Education Library containing training materials and resources for healthcare professionals participating in missions and treatment programs.
This is a living library that continues to grow through the contributions of providers and volunteers.
We encourage you to download, use, and adapt these materials to meet the needs of your patients, teams, and local communities. You are welcome to add your organization’s name, incorporate relevant images, and modify resources as appropriate for your specific circumstances.
Because internet access may be limited during missions, we recommend downloading materials before departure and saving them to your device or a portable drive.

Standards of Care
Alliance for Smiles follows internationally recognized standards for cleft and craniofacial care on all missions. We work closely with host-country providers, medical teams, and administrative staff to deliver the highest quality care possible within each local environment.
In general, Alliance for Smiles follows the guidelines established by the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association (ACPA) Parameters of Care.
While comprehensive team care may not always be possible during every mission, we strive to provide the most complete and effective care possible. Additional Alliance for Smiles mission policies and clinical guidelines are available here.
Patient & Family Education
