We have recently been alerted to individuals impersonating Alliance for Smiles on social media and messaging apps. These scammers may contact people using Gmail addresses, WhatsApp numbers, or other unofficial channels and may falsely request donations or offer support for fundraisers.

How to verify official communications:

All legitimate Alliance for Smiles email addresses end with @allianceforsmiles.org (for example, info@allianceforsmiles.org)
Our only official phone number is (415) 647-4481.
We do not fund individual fundraisers or solicit donations through personal messaging apps.

If you were contacted:

Do not respond, click links, or send money.
Take a screenshot of the message and save any email headers or message details.
Report the account and/or post to the platform (WhatsApp, Facebook, Threads, etc.).

How you can help:

Report the fraudulent account to the platform immediately.
Share this advisory with anyone who may be targeted.
Contact us with any suspicious messages so we can warn others.
