The baby was thrown out with the garbage and ended up in the arms of a rubbish collector. The 50-year old woman cradled the 3-month old baby in her arms when she walked into the AfS clinic in Wenzhou China. She found the baby in a garbage can covered with blood – umbilical still attached. Born with a cleft lip and palate the baby started her life as a person nobody wanted. Somebody had thrown her out with the garbage.

Alliance for Smiles repaired her lip and she was able to go home with the woman and her husband and live a normal life.
