Lifetime Achievement Award Goes to John Goings!

Lifetime Achievement Award – Thank you John!

This award was created to recognize very special individuals involved in the work of Alliance for Smiles long term. It is our great honor to bestow this award on one of our co-founders, John Goings.

John has served this organization from its beginning days first as a Founder, and then for all its years as Treasurer. After serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, John went to college on the GI Bill and became a CPA. He became an internal auditor, then treasurer, then president of a San Francisco title insurance company before his retirement.

He has quietly dedicated his time and talents to reporting on and supporting the finances of AfS. He’s worked tirelessly as a Board member and has been totally dedicated to the survival and success of the organization for the 16 years that Alliance for Smiles has existed.

This type of dedication and selfless commitment is deeply vital to the organization, and it is with great honor that we recognize John Goings for the Lifetime Achievement Award.

On behalf of AfS, John, we thank you deeply for your huge part in creating and maintaining this organization that we all love so deeply. Your work has impacted the lives of thousands of children and their families worldwide. Thank you so much for being a part of this mission from the very beginning.

“Because we have so many great volunteers in AfS, I feel very honored to be receiving this award.Through spending thirty wonderful years working with John Uth and Anita Stangl with Rotary, including eleven years with Rotoplast and fifteen with AfS, I feel my efforts are responsible for changing the life of at least one cleft child somewhere, which makes it all worth it.” – John Goings
